Andrew Frisina

Andrew Frisina M.S., BCBA

Regional Clinic Director, Redondo Beach

Andrew Frisina began his career while in college, working as a personal fitness instructor for children and adults with developmental delays and special needs. It was through this experience that Mr. Frisina developed a passion for helping individuals build meaningful skills and independence. Following college, he began working as a behavior therapist, earned his Master’s degree, and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Frisina has worked with children and families across a wide range of developmental, behavioral, and mental health needs. His clinical experience includes working with complex and severe challenging behaviors, developing social and adaptive skills, and providing parent training and coaching. He believes strongly in meeting families where they are and takes a collaborative, practical, and empathetic approach to helping parents understand their child’s behavior and develop strategies that work within their everyday lives.

Prior to joining FirstSteps, Mr. Frisina spent nearly five years with a pediatric mental health company, where he helped develop and scale a BCBA-led parent coaching program. In this role, he worked closely alongside psychologists, therapists, and psychiatrists to support children and families through an interdisciplinary model of care. This experience strengthened his belief that the best outcomes occur when families, clinicians, and other professionals work together toward shared goals.

Mr. Frisina joined FirstSteps as a Region Director, where he supports the clinical teams and families across the region. He is passionate about developing strong clinicians, creating positive and engaging environments for children, and ensuring families feel heard, supported, and actively involved in their child’s care.

Mr. Frisina lives in the South Bay with his wife and their three young children. As a parent of three young children, he brings a practical, real-world perspective to his work and a firsthand understanding of the joys and challenges that come with raising a family. Outside of First Steps, much of his time is spent coaching his son’s baseball and flag football teams, watching his daughters participate in soccer and gymnastics, and spending time with family and friends. When he finds some free time, you can usually find him on the golf course, watching sports, or out on the ocean fishing.
